Upgrade StorageSync problem between standalone and firefox on multiple computers

I used Zotero on Firefox without any syncing problems. Now I installed the standalone on my Mac's (I want to use both the webbased and the standalone version), but the links to attachments that work, and sync, on the webbased Zotero do not work on the standalone versions. The message I get is that the file is moved or changed (which they are not). If I reconnect the link to the original file in, say, standalone, the link will not work in the webbased version....
The original files to which I link the Zotero references are in my dropbox-folder.
How can I sync the links in both standalone and webbased?

Linked files are not synced. Zotero only stores an *absolute* link to the location of the original file.
You should use relative links (scroll down).
I thought I had the Base Directory for relative links set up right, but did not change the setting on both the standalone ánd the webbased version (indeed, Firefox) on all the computers....
