Bibliography has additional references

Hi,

I have just noticed that my bibliography has additional references, that are no longer cited in the main text. They were referenced in the main text once, but I have since deleted them. Yet, the bibliography still contains them.

I tried:
1. removing and regenerating bibliography
2. copying document (with and without bibliography) to a new Word Document and updating/regenerating bibliography
3. going through the text and find the section that is causing the problem, rewrite it and update the bibliography and that removed these 'ghost' references.

However, this document is 6 pages of references and I have three similar ones. I have no idea how many more 'ghost' references are in my bibliographies and which ones they are. I don't fancy looking to see if every single reference in the bibliography is still in the text, unless I have to, and was wondering if there is a quick way to fix the document, or find the 'ghost' references?

Many Thanks

Mikaela
