Zotero gives us a corrupted message. Error Code in comments.

Our problem is Zortero suddenly stopped working and says everything is corrupted. We also out of storage space. Is this the reason? Also Zortero no longer allows us to put in page number.After a p and a dot are typed the p and the dot disappear. Why is this so?

I have bought more storage space and its taking a long time sync. Will it eventually sync or is there a problem?

    Please read Reporting Bugs. We need a lot more info to be able to help.

    You should also create separate threads for separate issues, but someone did so for you in this case.

    Here are the error messages I get for this problem.

    The field code corresponding to this citation which tells Zotero which item this citiation represents is corrupted. Would you like to reselect this item?
    Clicking no will delete field codes for the citations containing this item, preserving the citation text but delete it from your bibliography.


    OSS Status Alert error - 1712) @ display documentAlert: document.m:186)' when calling method:

    zoteroIntegration:display alert

    Is this now in the appropriate thread? Please help me.

    What does "it still doesn't work" mean?

    Remember that we can't see your screen. You'll need to tell us exactly what you're doing and exactly what's happening on screen.

    Dan,I mean there are when I reslect the item two zotero double bars come in at once and the citation still is not enterrerd in Zortero. Is this clear? Brian

    Select the item in the new bar that appears after you click "Yes." If it's not in your Zotero library, you'll have to add it.

    Thanks. We have the items in our Zortero library. We have 2 simultaneous Zortero bars at once which looks unusual. My question please is how to correct this corrupted message with the following codes.

    When you get that message, there will be a citation that is highlighted in your document. You should select the item in your library corresponding to the highlighted citation in the new bar that appears after you click "Yes." There are two bars because Zotero can't finish adding the new citation until the corrupted citation is fixed.

    If that doesn't work, or if that's unclear, you can delete the citation that Zotero highlights when the error message appears and then add it again.

    Thanks. I did delete the citation that Zortero saw was corrupted and added it again. Still I got this corrupted message. Also, citations that worked perfectly fine now are showing up as corrupted. Is there just one permanent way of fixing this?

    If you get the same error a second time, is the same citation highlighted?

    Also, can you provide a report ID after retriggering the error?

    I am trying to enter a citation in my word document using Zortero. When I do this I get an error message. One option is to click yes and reenter the citation. When I do this I get two Zortero bars. I have tried reentering the citation and still it comes up as corrupted.

    that seems to be your problem. The error message doesn't refer to the citation that you're entering, but to the one that Zotero highlights when it displays the error message. The two are almost certainly not the same.
    (and no, Zotero doesn't do phone support)

    Thank you. Recently, I have succesfully enterred many citations where the footnotes are on the bottom of my page and into my word document. The citations are properly recorded in my Zortero library. Now all of a sudden I get an error message.

    Since, I have been able to enter my citations in the footnotes in the past, please let me know what I need to do to correct this problem and continue doing what was working smoothly.

    I appreciate your help and look forward to solving this problem.

    It really sounds like there is one or a couple corrupted citations and you need to identify, delete, and replace them. Zotero checks _all_ citations when you insert a new one, so a couple of corrupted ones will cause errors until they are fixed.

    it should be highlighted (maybe just in a darker gray or so, depending on your software), when the error message comes up.
