Some Item Type won't export as COinS

The OpenURL specification, http://alcme.oclc.org/openurl/servlet/OAIHandler?verb=ListRecords&metadataPrefix=oai_dc&set=Core:Metadata+Formats, specifically, http://alcme.oclc.org/openurl/servlet/OAIHandler/extension?verb=GetMetadata&metadataPrefix=mtx&identifier=info:ofi/fmt:kev:mtx:book and http://alcme.oclc.org/openurl/servlet/OAIHandler/extension?verb=GetMetadata&metadataPrefix=mtx&identifier=info:ofi/fmt:kev:mtx:journal, upon which COinS are based, lists several possible genre,

"book",
"bookitem",
"conference",
"proceeding",
"report",
"document",
"journal",
"issue",
"article",
"proceeding",
"conference",
"preprint",
"unknown,"

which are tagged as "item type" in Zotero. I am able to drag and drop to export a Zotero item with an item type of "book." But, I am unable to export the same item if the item type is changed to "report." (However, an item with a COinS with genre=report or genre=book is able to be correctly imported into Zotero.) We are creating thousands of COinS using Zotero to describe our collections. Would it be possible for exporting of these item types to be corrected? Thanks, Alice.

    Also, I'm noticing that an item with genre=report does not have it's series title imported into Zotero.

    There are quite a few item types that cannot be exported into COinS. The only ones that can are:
    • book
    • bookSection
    • conferencePaper
    • journalArticle
    • patent
    • thesis
    I think we can certainly add report to that list. Unfortunately this will require a Zotero update (rather than just a translator) and I'm not sure when I would be able to get to it (maybe someone else will before me). I'm sure a patch for this would be welcome if someone is inclined to do it.
