Advanced search function refinement

The advanced search function is powerful.

But sometimes we need a search strategy wherein a broader term is used to find a collection of items followed by exclusion of items compatible to other conditions.

Could options of "All fields & tags", "title, creator, years", "everything" be offered in the "field selection" field of the advanced search window ?

    So definitely yes to the general idea - we'll have to see which options are going to be implemented (e.g. it strikes me that title, creator, year isn't terribly useful in an advanced search) and unfortunately no ETA - this would typically be Dan's realm and he's quite busy right now I believe, so if this is going to happen quickly it'd most likely be via a patch.

    I would second that. Zotero is great, but the ability to run advanced searches on "everything" (which means having "everything" as selection in the field selection field of the advanced search window)would really improve it. This, especially for those of us who aren't doing a lot of tagging, etc., and rely on full text searches...

    (no need to +1 proposals that already have a ticket. They'll be implemented as soon as a dev finds the time or someone submits a patch)
