Tags disappearing

I've started using both the Zotero stand-alone and the Firefox add-on. But yesrterday something odd started happening with the tags. In the standalone all of my tags were missing. I checked the add-on version and they were still there. I added some tags to entries I was editing in the standalone version, figuring they would eventually combine in a future synch with the add-on. But this morning all of my tags are now missing in both versions, except for the tags I added in the stand-alone yesterday. Any advice on how to restore my tags would be appreciated.

    Can you take a screenshot that shows this, upload it somewhere (Dropbox, imageshack.us, etc.), and post a link here? I suspect you're just looking in the wrong place.

    Also, by default Standalone and Firefox should be sharing the same data directory, so there'd be the same data in both without using syncing. If you can't open both at the same time, they're using the same database.

    You're absolutely right, I was looking in the wrong place. I had an individual folder open rather than the whole library. My normal practice is to add and edit items in the larger library then move them to folders. What threw me is that I expected the tags to autosuggest based on other tag usage when I was adding them. But apparently it only autosuggests for tags that are associated with the current folder you are in?

    Anyhow, it appears to be a non-issue, though it would be nice if the tag autosuggest worked the same no matter what folder you were in.

    It does. It just doesn't suggest items from other libraries. (It used to, but that was changed, because libraries might be for different projects that are completely unrelated to each other.)
