No address bar icon but can still save via 'bookmarks'

Hi,

the address bar icon is not appearing, not even on amazon (it has been temporarily, but most of the time it is not). I have followed all the instructions on the 'troubelshooting issues with zotero translators' page, but no luck. It is still possible to grab information from websites via the zotero-script I added to my browsers 'bookmarks' directory.
I have zotero standalone as well as the zotero extention for firefox installed, both in version 4.0.8 (I installed them just yesterday, the default settings are still in effect). I'm running firefox 21.0 on windows 8.

You haven't followed all the steps, or you'd be providing more information. Make sure you've actually done everything, and then re-read the last step.

    I. There seems to be an address bar icon on Amazon every first time I start firefox after I restart my computer. When I click it, a box appears on the lower right of my screen, telling me that Zotero is saving the entry, but it just stays there until I click it. The new entry does not appear in my library either. I documented the process under debug ID D427687153.
As for other web pages, there is not even an Icon. There was one for a short while yesterday, but then I had the same problem just described for the Amazon page. Below I added a number of URLs for web pages without an address bar icon:

II. I am using Zotero Standalone, the Firefox-Plugin is installed as well. Both are active.

    2. Both Zotero applications are version 4.0.8

    3. Firefox is version 21.0

    4. Translators are updated

    5. No translator issues have been reported concerning the sites the problem occured on

    6. For Amazon, hovering the cursor over the address bar icon only gets me the message „saving from amazon.com“, without any translator. At the times I actually had the icon on other pages, there have been translators displayed, but since currently the icon is not available, I don't know their names.

    7. Cookies and third-party cookies are activated, Firefox history is remembered.

    8. System clock is synchronized with the internet and works correctly.

    9. All extensions except for Zotero are deactivated.

    10. No unresponsive script warning is displayed.

    11. Translators have been reset

    12. System and version info recap: I am using Zotero extention and Standalone, both version 4.0.8, Firefox 21.0 and windows 8. The debug ID is D427687153.
  • What if you close Zotero Standalone (and restart Firefox for good measure)? Do you get the icon when Zotero for Firefox is in full mode?
  • (Just to make sure you understand the difference, if you have both Zotero Standalone and Zotero for Firefox, whenever Standalone is open Zotero for Firefox will operate in "connector mode", which is equivalent to the Chrome and Safari plugins. When Standalone is closed, Zotero for Firefox runs in full mode, which is essentially identical to Standalone except integrated tightly into Firefox.)
  • Curiously, now it works just fine (with and without Zotero Standalone open). The only things I remember altering in the meantime are disabeling cookies again (re-enabled them just now - still works) and updating and reactivating the adblock plus-extension (which is not operating properly anymore, so maybe some interferances here).

I don't know what to make of this, but I'm glad it works. In any case: Thank you for the support!
