Reference does not appear in Zotero when added from website

Hi
Whenever I try to add a reference from a website it does not appear in Zotero, like it used to. Even though a pop up message tells me it has been saved in Zotero.
I use mac and Firefox 12.0.
Thank you very much

  • start by updating Firefox to version 21.
How are you looking for the item in question? It's almost certain that if you get the pop-up with a title the item is being saved somewhere.
  • LineVJ, you're also still using 3.0.14.1. You should upgrade to the latest version of Zotero 4.0.
  • Hi Guys
Thanks for you comments. I now upgraded both Zotero and Firefox, but now the icon in the adressbar is gone. (The one showing on the website, you press to save the article into Zotero) So its still not possible to get my references into Zotero.
Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Sorry...I solved that problem myself.
But the reference is still not showing in Zotero, even though the little "saving box" pops up in the bottom right corner.
@Adam: When the saving box pops up, it says the article is beeing saved into "my library" which is where I am looking for it. I have tried to search as well, but it canĀ“t find the article in question :(

  • Could you specify _exactly_ what you're doing when you're looking for the article?
  • Hi,

I have the same problem. When I try to add a reference from Pubmed (using the "save in Zotero button) to Zotero, the saving box pops up and nothing happens.
I'am using Linux, Firefox 21 and Zotero 4.0.8..
I recognised this problem today. Some weeks ago (Firefox 20), everything was fine.

  • Addition:
Saving success depends on the reference.
E.g. for a reference which can be saved:
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3052279

  • PubMed servers are experiencing intermittent problems again
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
We're working on making this clearer to Zotero users. There's not much you can do right now. Will just have to wait for PubMed to sort this out.
  • @Aurimas:
thanks for your comment! This helps, because it prevents me to reinstall Firefox, Zotero... or try other things :-).

  • A few days ago the NLM announced that parts of PubMed would be unavailable 9 June through 10 June. It appears that the interruption has been extended.
  • Pubmed is working again. Sometimes you had to push the "save in Zotero" button two- or threetimes, but it was working ;-).
  • Hi, I am having a similar problem today (June 25). In PubMed (Chrome), hit the save to Zotero button. Its says saving to correct collection but nothing saved. repeated several times, check have v4.0.8, restarted...

  • same problem. You'll be getting an error message for this instead of the empty save shortly.
  • update - never got error message BUT gremlins seem to have to have runaway - everything working with PubMed now.
