Tags on host & Standalone work differently

There isn't an open ticket on this that I could find...
Behavior Difference 1

* I have a parent and child in Standalsone (4.0.8)

* Mark child with tag "Tag_for_child"

* On standalone select "Tag_for_child" tag. Parent shows in gray, child is black.

* Sync with Server

* On server side tag doesn't show up in "count" nor does Parent/child item show if I select "Tag_for_child" tag. (I did have it on at least on "Parent type" item so it displays in server tag list. )

If this is a known "problem", I'm sorry for reporting it again...

    On Standlone when I select a collection then I only get tags within that collection.

    On server, when I select a collection, then I get all tags in database.
    Don't have option on host side to set this behavior to me preference.

    (Didn't look for a ticket on this...)

    It's true that they behave differently, but even if we did show child tags on the website, it wouldn't be the same, since child items are only shown on their parent items' detail pages. We could theoretically filter the view to just parents with child items that match, but you wouldn't be able to see the matching child items without clicking through.

    (Also, it'd be better not to block quotes as separators for parts of your own posts—it makes it look like you're quoting someone else, which is confusing.)

    Let me think about tag thing. I understand your point. I was just annoyed that I got burned on this. I think at least the documentation should note the difference.

    A saved query and some fiddling around and I moved the child tags to parent items in about 1/2 hour. (had a few of them...)
