Sorry if this is a redundant thread, but i can't find the solution to my problem anywhere! the zotero icon is not showing up in my address bar. i cannot view it for any site (amazon, library sites, nytimes). i have tried all of the suggested solutions, i have updated and restarted chrome and my computer, and i have the most current program and connector downloaded. how can i fix this?

if you followed these you should be providing at least one URL and an error report ID.

Do you see the Zotero Connector listed as a Chrome Extensions (under Tools-->Extensions, I believe)?

The Zotero connector in Chrome is NOT a plugin, but an extension. To see, whether it is there, go to this webpage in Chrome:

    about:extensions
  • Hey guys, the problem I am experiencing is similar to the problem here. The only icon that whows in Chrome is bookmark icon. No book or journal icon shows on google scholar. Same is happening in Amazon.com as well. Please help. I unable to take in doc into standalone zetero with Chrome.
  • you'll get the same response here as in your other thread. As I say above:

  • about:extensions tells me - seee below

Boo... You have no extensions :-( Want to browse the gallery instead?
  • well, then you don't have to Zotero connector for Chrome installed:
    Install from:
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/zotero-connector/ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc?hl=en
  • After running the links this is what I am showing about the connector!!

    Zotero Connector 3.0.8.1
Saves references to Zotero from Chrome Permissions Visit website
    ID: ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc
    Inspect views: global.html

    Allow in incognito
  • Hey just noticed my problem has been resolved thanks! U guys are wonderful
  • Hi, I have the same problem. I do not see the translator in URL bar in my Chrome.

I found the error message below in the general preference of Zotero Connector: "Java Script Error: missing property translator ID in translator metadata JSON object in an unidentified" {file chrome extension :// ...gibberish../zotero/connector/js.line:403)} ... I couldn't copy and paste so I just typed this up, os "gibberish" portion is filled with numbers and letters.

    Please help.

I tried everything outlined in http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues

I use the latest versions of zotero standalone, and the zotero extension. It used to work perfectly until recently. I use PC Windows 7.
  • close Chrome, then click "Reset Translators" in the Files and Folders Tab of the Advanced Tab of the Zotero preferences.
  • I've tried it, it doesn't work.
  • Wait - now it does! I had to keep the zotero standalone open and then open chrome.

    THANKS SO MUCH!
