Patents
Greetings,
I know this has been a topic of conversation in other threads. However, I would like the patent citation style for Elsevier Harvard (with titles) to be updated to a more standard style that includes the patent number - and all parts of the citation ordered correctly. Here's an example:
Brunmore RT. Process for producing carbon fibers of high strength. US patent 358697, 1995.
I know that this has been done for some other styles (e.g. IEEE) . . . but a glance at the IEEE style doesn't match Elsevier's requirements. It would also be helpful for this style to work for non-US patents. As a note, the above Elsevier citation (taken from the journal Carbon), differs from the Harvard style.
Additionally, I am aware that all the information isn't grabbed from certain databases, like SciFinder - but for now just having a complete, correct citation in the bibliography is good enough. I already edit the Zotero record with date and patent #.
Thanks in advance!

Here is some info from Elsevier that supports that: http://www.elsevierdirect.com/brochures/authors/Text/Publishing_with_Elsevier.pdf
Based on this information - here is the Harvard style for patents:
Name(s) of inventor(s). Date of issue.Title of Patent, Number of Patent including country of issue.
Example:
Graham, C.P., Fonti, L. and Martinez, A.M., American Sugar Co. 1972. Tableting sugar and compositions containing it. U.S. Pat. 3,642,535.
Is this enough info for you to apply the patent example to the Elsevier Harvard style?
Thanks!
