Style Request "UKE Hamburg Germany" Dissertation

Hi,

like many others I was searching for the citation style that is used at our university and (like many others) I couldn't find it ;-(.
However I found a citation style, which is quite similar: the one of the Journal of social Acheology (https://www.zotero.org/styles/journal-of-social-archaeology?source=1)
To show the differences, between the existing style and the one I want, I thought it would be the easiest thing to write down a list with examples:

Books
How it should be:
Names of all authores (Year) Title. Edition., if. Band. Publisher,Publication. if page numbers.

Egner F (1982) Wie man Polizist wird. Heidelberg, New York. Turm Verlag, 201-230.
Schmitt A, Meier F (1955) Lehrbuch der gesamten Anatomie des Menschen, 16. Aufl., Bd.
IV: Eingeweide, Nervensystem, Sinnesorgane. Stahl, Stuttgart.

Book chapters
How it should be:
Names of all authores (Year) Title. In: Titel of the Book. Name of publisher support, if necessary Band, Publisher, place of publication, page numbers.

Müller D, Schmidt Z, Amling G, Thele G (1999) Untersuchungen zum Wetter in Hamburg. In:
Das Wetter in Norddeutschland. U. Koch, F. Gromus (Hrg.) Springer, Hamburg, New York,
27-43.

Articles of scientific journals
How it is:
Barton JR (2008) Academic training schemes reviewed: implications for the future development of our researchers and educators. Med. Educ. 42(2): 164–169.
Kingsley K, O’Malley S, Stewart T and Howard KM (2008) Research enrichment: evaluation of structured research in the curriculum for dental medicine students as part of the vertical and horizontal integration of biomedical training and discovery. Bmc Med. Educ. 8: 9.
How it should be:
Names of all Authores (Year) Title. Name of the Journal (INDEX MEDICUS)
Journal Volume: Pages.

Barton JR (2008) Academic training schemes reviewed: implications for the future
development of our researchers and educators. Med Educ. 42(2):164-169.
Kingsley K, O'Malley S, Stewart T, Howard KM (2008) Research enrichment: evaluation of
structured research in the curriculum for dental medicine students as part of the vertical and
horizontal integration of biomedical training and discovery. BMC Med Educ. 19(8):9.

Webpages
How it should be:
Autor (year) Title. Place of publication [Online im Internet] URL:
[Stand: Datum, Time].

Eser H, Hoch HG (2003) Forschung mit humanen embryonalen Stammzellen im In- und
Ausland. Rechtsgutachten zu den strafrechtlichen Grundlagen und Grenzen der Gewinnung,
Verwendung des Imports sowie die Beteiligung daran durch Veranlassung, Förderung und
Beratung. Freiburg im Breisgau. [Online im Internet.] URL:
http://www.dfg.de/aktuelles_presse/reden_stellungnahmen/2003/download/gutachten_eser_
koch.pdf [Stand: 08.05.2009, 15:15].

Dissertations
How it should be:
Autor (year) Title. Medizinische Dissertation/Habilitation, University.
Example:
Meier AV (1977) Canales ethmoidales. Med. Dissertation. Universität Köln.

And also in citing:
It should be (examples)
(Müller 1990)
o 2 Authores: (Müller und Schmidt 1990)
o more then 2 Authores: (Müller et al. 1990)
o more cites on one place (Peters 1990, Müller und Schmidt 1990,
Schneider et. al.)
o more Publications of the same author on one place used - they have to be separated for example:(Müller, 1990a) and (Müller, 1990b).

That’s it so far.

Maybe it would also be great to have an option for archive documents. If needed, I can also provide the citation rules as Word Document but in German. I tried to translate it, but it is quite hard because I am not a native speaker in neither English or German. I am miles away from editing the styles.

Thanks a lot in advance.

If there are any questions, feel free to write me. I will do my best to answer as soon as possible.
  • Sorry, we just don't have the capacity to do University or department specific styles.
You can try yourself with the visual editor
    http://editor.citationstyles.org/about
and if you run into specific problems we'll help, but that's all we can do.
  • :D I successfully did it myself (not perfect, but it can serve :) As I am a computer doofus, I am quite proud of myself.
I am thinking about putting it online.
I do have a question. I don´t know what to do.
    For Webpages:
Autor (year) Title. Place of publication [Online im Internet] URL:
    [Stand: Datum, Time].

Eser H, Hoch HG (2003) Title. Freiburg im Breisgau. [Online im Internet.] URL: http://www.dfg.de/aktuelles_pressereden_stellungnahmen/2003/download/gutachten_eser_koch.pdf [Stand: 08.05.2009, 15:15].

    How do I insert Time?
I did all the rest succesfully. At least I think :D
  • you can't insert the time with CSL, so what you got is as good as it is going to get.
See here if you want to add your style to the repository:
    https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md
  • Thank you for the quick response and for the link.
I will first test the style myself for the next few weeks (starting to write my Diss) and if everything will be ok, ev. after some changes, I will add my style to the repository.
Thank you for your time and suggestions!
  • Hello!

I know this topic is really old, but I am stuck at the same problem as fluffy and I can't find the UKE style in the repository. Could you maybe add the style? Or send me the csl-file?

  • It looks like they never submitted their style to the CSL repository. See here for instructions for requesting a new CSL style:
    https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Requesting-Styles

(Note that the two exact citations requested are needed—Campbell/Pedersen and Mares. You can post the requested information in this thread rather than starting a new one.)
