merge duplicated items very slow

Hi,

I have a problem with the merging of duplicated items. It is very slow it takes more than 20s to merge two items. I have try to change the preference sto have no sync and set the number of pages and character for indexing in the search option to zero to speed up zotero (as proposed in the forum). But the merging is very slow?

Any ideas of what I can do to improve the process?

I'm using zotero on firefox in ubuntu 12.04.

    It shouldn't be. Can you provide a Debug ID for a merge attempt that's slow?

    I am facing also slow merging (7s for one merge).

    Sync is not enabled, indexing is maxpages:50, maxchar : 250000

    Any ideas how to improve performance?

    Edisz: Is the freeze longer than the amount of time it takes to load the duplicates view each time you click on it from another collection?

    My guess is that it's not optimized right now to avoid doing a refresh of the whole duplicates list after changes are made, so with a large library there might be a delay each time.

    The freeze is slightly longer than switching to the duplicates view.

    I think that's still the issue, though. No immediate relief coming here, but it's something we can try to address in a future version. I've created a ticket for this.
