Can't drag a file into Zotero to make an attachment in Ubuntu Hardy Heron

Well the title says it all hopefully. I can still use Attachments Add but drag and drop doesn't work at all.
Given that I know next to nothing about Ubuntu, this may be an Ubuntu not a Zotero problem.
Any help gratefully received.
