Transferring a zotero account to a new users

Hello,
I completed an internship this semester where I used zotero, but now am moving away and I want to transfer access of my zotero account to my boss. Is there a way for me to switch the settings in my account so that I can delete my zotero library from my laptop but not delete the actual account? Also, I tried adding my boss's email address to my account and it would not work. Has anyone had/overcome a similar issue? Please let me know if you can help!

Thanks,
Lauren

If you want to completely get rid of your library and start a new one, you can simply delete the "zotero.sqlite" file and the "storage" folder in your Zotero storage directory. You should probably make backups first (just in case) and have Zotero (or Firefox if you're using Zotero for Firefox) closed while deleting those files.

Do you get any error when trying to add the email address?
  • I get a red box at the top of my screen and it simply says it cannot add the email address. I am not looking to completely delete the account, just switch access to it so I can free up the space on my computer.
  • Actually, I was just able to get a different email account registered in my library. Do you know if any email accounts are unable to join? I'm thinking maybe its an email access issue and not a procedural issue. Let me know what you think, and I appreciate the help!
  • you can't use an e-mail that's in use for another account. AFAIK that's the only limitation
