NCBI PubMed import problems

Seems not working as of today (22/04/2013). Fedora 16, Firefox 18.0.2. Neither "magic wand", nor import from PubMed, nor import from PubMed Central - box with "Saving" pops up and that's it.

PS. Updated Zotero (to 4.0.6) and went through all "reset X" motions.

    A Debug ID for a magic wand lookup might be helpful.

    Are you behind some sort of proxy that might be interfering with these requests? (It looks like that request took 22 seconds before failing.)

    What happens if you load http://eutils.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/efetch.fcgi?db=PubMed&tool=Zotero&retmode=xml&rettype=citation&id=23572446 in your browser?
  • Apparently the admins must be mucking with DNS. Eutils.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov did not resolve at all (over ca. 20 secs), upon manually editing /etc/hosts the problem was completely resolved.
