Can't paste ISBN etc into box - stays blank

Zotero for Firefox was working fine but suddenly it won't accept a pasted-in ISBN number or DOI etc . The box stays blank - no number visible. It works if I type it in but not otherwise. Has anyone got any ideas? I have checked the firewall etc - seems ok.

    which OS? Zotero for FF or Standalone? Have you tried pasting using both right-click -->paste and cmd/ctrl+v?

    Right-click ->paste hasn't worked for me in a long time. But under Win 7, ctl-v should work. If it doesn't work for Zotero, test the copy paste on some text in a word processor document by using ctl-c / ctl-v. If it doesn't work in your word processor, don't rule out the possibility that there was some Windows universal keyboard setting change. Do you use an English language system and keyboard?

    I'm on Mac OS High Sierra ans still can't paste either way "copy, paste" nor ctl c/ctl v.

    @SHEEL: On a Mac you use Cmd-v to paste, not Ctrl-v. That should definitely work, even if pasting via the context menu doesn't.
