Saving item VERY SLOW with Zotero Connector and Zotero Standalone

hi, guys.

I'm facing an annoying problem.

I'm using Zotero Connector(3.0.8.1) under chrome and Zotero Standalone(3.0.14).

When saving an item of webpage, it's very very slow, which takes around 10 sec. And I just have to wait and wait to close the page before saving it into Zotero.

I found that the saved item is with a snapshot of the webpage. I thought it was because of the snapshot-taking operation which slow down the saving procedure. So I disabled the taking snapshot option in Zotero standalone options. But Zotero still would take a snapshot when I save a webpage in with chrome Zotero connector.

Simply uncheck the snapshot-taking option in Zotero standalone doesn't work. Maybe some configurations should be done with Zotero connector, but there's no snapshot-taking option in chrome zotero connector extension.

So, here are my questions:
1. What's the reason on the earth for slowing down the Zotero saving item procedure? Is it the snapshot-taking operation?
2. If that's true, how to disable the snapshot-taking operation when I using chrome Zotero connector?
  • Can you provide an URL of the page that you are saving?
  • @mronkko

the problem happens with almost any page. e.g. http://vision.ucsd.edu/~bbabenko/project_miltrack.shtml
  • But Zotero still would take a snapshot when I save a webpage in with chrome Zotero connector.
I don't think there's currently a way to save just a webpage item from the connectors, as you can in Zotero for Firefox. It always adds a snapshot. This should be fixed, though.

Can you provide a Debug ID from Standalone for a snapshot save that's slow?
