Report ID 612369074 Cannot install Zotero Standalone Libreoffice Plugin (Ubuntu 12.10)

Hello,
I'm using Zotero Standalone 3.0.14 (with plugin version 3.5.5.SA.3.0.14) on Ubuntu 12.10 but fail to install Libreoffice Plugin in Libreoffice 4.0.1.2. Please help. I have tried uninstalled and reinstalled but it doesn't work. Thanks.
  • how exactly is the install failing?
  • string(337) "[JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "'unopkg at /opt/libreoffice4.0/program/unopkg failed to install' when calling method: [nsIObserver::observe]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "native frame :: :: :: line 0" data: no]"]"
  • It won't let me to install the plugin and I got an error message as follows:

    "Installation could not be completed because an error occurred. Please ensure that OpenOffice.org is closed, and then restart Zotero."

    [JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "'unopkg at /opt/libreoffice4.0/program/unopkg failed to install' when calling method: [nsIObserver::observe]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "native frame :: <unknown filename> :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 0" data: no]"]
  • Yes. I have tried this already, but is not working. Thanks.
  • What error do you get when you attempt to perform a manual installation?
  • When I double click on the integration.oxt file, I got a denied sign with the message

    "Add Extension(s):
    /home/moses/.config/libreoffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu7dnvkn.tmp_/Zotero_OpenOffice_Integration.oxt"
  • Anyone else? Your help is appreciated. I really hope that I can get this fixed so that I can Zotero on Linux and Libreoffice.
  • I don't think we've had any previous reports of this issue. If you don't mind clearing your LibreOffice settings, you could remove the /home/moses/.config/libreoffice directory, open and close LibreOffice, and then try reinstalling the LibreOffice extension from within the Zotero Standalone preferences.

    Actually, there were apparently a couple reports, which were both resolved by deleting the LibreOffice config directory. I've added this to the troubleshooting page.
  • Thank you so much Simon. It works!
