searching in subcollection

hi
I'd like to use the advanced search just for one of my subcollections (and maybe the subcollection of this one). E.g. I'm searching for all entries without the tag 'history', but the result list shows entries from the whole.
how can I search in just one subcollection?
thx
  • you can specify a sub collection as a search condition in the advanced search (collection -- is --- <name of the subcollection>
  • @adamsmith

aaaaaaahhhh! thank you very much - if you know where, it is obvious. I overlooked it again and again.
  • Hi

Is it possible, by using the advanced search (I need it to search in a subcollection) to search "everywhere"? I didn't find this option among the numerous one...

    Thnk you!

  • no, unfortunately not.

Argh... what a pity! Thank you for your quick reply
  • Unless I'm missing something, there's a checkbox that says "include subfolders"
  • I understood the question to be whether there is a feature in advanced search that does the same as the "Everywhere" feature in the quick search bar--and the answer to that is no.

If the question is whether you can search in all collections and subcollections, that's in fact the default.
  • @adamsmith : my question was indeed if there was a feature in advanced search that does the same as the "Everywhere" feature in the quick search bar, because as PFHist 6 months ago, I wanted to do a search in one particular subcollection, but "everywhere"...

It seems that it is not possible (yet?)
  • if that's all you want -- and you don't need anything more complicated -- you can just select the subcollection and then use quick search. Quick searches only every apply to selected collections.

If it's more complicated you can still specify all other search conditions in the advanced search, create a saved search, and the use the quick search bar for search everywhere there.

I still think the option should be available in advanced search and I'm pretty sure there are no objections from developers against this; someone would just have to do it.
