Invalid Username or Password Problem (ID 1362157664)

Hi,

for some time I am not able to sync with the Server and receive the Invalid Username or Password Error Message (Report ID is 1362157664).

I can log into the Webpage without a problem and tried it multiple times with entering the same in the syn preferences. System is Mac with Firefox 4.0.1

  • It says Version 3.0.8. Will it help to upade the version? If so, what's the best way to do that?

    Upgrade to the latest version of Firefox, currently Firefox 19, and the latest version of Zotero, 3.0.14, from zotero.org. You should also make sure you have auto-updating enabled, since your software should never be so out of date. (Firefox 4.0.1 came out in April 2011.)
  • this isn't a PPC problem - the Mac PPCs don't run Firefox past 3.6.x

    @Felix_1000 - I'd recommend first updating Firefox - there should be an update button in the menu, but otherwise you can just re-install the most recent version from http://www.mozilla.org - the installer will ask you whether you want to update your existing version of FF which you should do.

    Then update Zotero - you should normally just have add-ons set to auto-update in the tools-add-ons screen, otherwise you can manually update add-ons.

    While you should always have a back-up of your Zotero database (as for all important data) http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#backing_up_your_zotero_library all of this should not affect your Zotero library and data.
