OpenOffice crashes when editing citation

Ubuntu 10.04, OpenOffice 3.2, Zotero 3.0.14 working in Firefox 18.0.2. When I try to edit a citation, ie when I try to add to an existing footnote new citations, OpenOffice crashes immediately.

    Firefox 18 and OpenOffice 3.2 are outdated: upgrade to the latest versions of each (switch to LibreOffice 4.0.1 or Apache OpenOffice 3.4.1)

    Did you try to upgrade OpenOffice?
