Help! Zotero downloads not showing up in library

Help! I can download through Zotero on firefox (I see the grey box at the bottom right that says it is saving something), but then my standalone library does not show the addition. I only have about six items in my library, so yes, the problem is not that I am sorting it incorrectly.

When I go add a citation through Word the recent download is available to cite. I just can't see it in my library.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    If you manually add a citation to Standalone, does it show up in Zotero for Firefox (i.e. when you click on "Zotero" at the bottom right of your browser? If not, you don't have Standalone set up to share the same data directory as Zotero for Firefox. You can manually point Standalone to FF's Zotero data directory in the Advanced tab of the Zotero Standalone preferences (though this should have been the default setting on install).

    Are you sure you want to be using both Standalone and Zotero for Firefox - that set-up certainly can make sense in some situations, but you don't need Standalone when using FIrefox.

    Also please be sure we are using the words to mean the same thing. The top-most thing in the left hand column (Z-FireFox) is your library and the "folders" below the library are collections. Items that are in collections are in your library but your library may contain items that are not in any of your collections. Further, items can be in multiple collections without having multiple copies in your library.

    Hi Adam, The reverse is actually my problem. When I add to to my Zotero Firefox Library and then close out Firefox and open my Zotero Standalone, I do not see any of the additions. Can you please advise? When I use Microsoft Word it will only pull up citations that are in my Zotero Standalone--to this is a big problem for me!

    I understand what your problem is. I asked you to try the reverse for troubleshooting.
