Incomplete and wrong import from GBV (GVK)

Hi,

when I use Zotero to import a reference from the GBV, some parts are missing.
An example: http://gso.gbv.de/DB=2.1/PPNSET?PPN=600530787
When I use Library Catlog (PICA) for the import, the "issue" ("Auflage" in german) is empty and the authors which are used are "Blume" and "Thiele" which are in the "Sonst. Personen" field at the GBV.
When I use COinS for the import, the "issue" field and the "pages" field are empty but the authors are correctly named.

How can I fix this?

Thanks,

Simon
  • The translator fix is now up. Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences.

Any further problems let us know & thanks for reporting.
  • Thanks a lot, this was incredible fast!

  • Hi Adam,

I recognized, that the persons mentioned under "Sonst. Personen" (other persons) in the GBV are saved as "Herausgeber" (publisher?) in Zotero. Is it possible to save them somewhere else (so they don't appear in my bibliography) or delete them?

    Thanks again,

    Simon
  • It's a guessing game - I looked at the entry and I think "Neu bearbeitet von..." was pretty close to edited/herausgegeben, so I'm not inclined to change that in the translator, but you can easily switch them over to contributors (which aren't cited) manually.
  • "Neu bearbeitet von..." means something like "Revision by..."

Now I have to revise many of my entries, another example: http://gso.gbv.de/DB=2.1/SET=18/TTL=1/SHW?FRST=9/PRS=HOL

Paula, Julio de ; Bär, Michael [Übers.] ; Schleitzer, Anna [Übers.] ; Heinisch, Carsten [Übers.] are now saved as "Herausgeber" but the last three persons are probably translators.

could you post the permalink ("Zitier") of that item. We should be able to get translators as translators.

    Thanks!
  • I can try to play around with this, but what the translator is doing now is a reflection of the data as it is entered in the GBV database: If you look at the bibliographic export formats (under speichern), those authors are all saved as "editors" (in bibtex) and A2 (which is for editors) in RIS
