Journal of Neurosurgery style error with sorting authors

The JNS style currently posted ignores brief modifiers in last names when sorting and leads to editorial rejection. Names like Del Maestro and von Hippel-Lindau sorted incorrectly. It is easily corrected by using the csl editor to change the sort function in Global Settings.

    So Del Maestro should be sorted under D and von Hippel under V? Do you have an example article that shows that (don't worry about paywall, I have acces)?

    I do not; however I do have the editorial rejection siting sorting error.

    The style is now fixed. The updated version will appear on the repository within 30mins (check the timestamp). Update your copy of the style by re-installing it from the repository. (See here if you need instructions for installing styles in standalone.)

    I'm having the same problem with MLA--"de Boor" is showing up in the B's and is automatically capitalized: "De Boor."

    Thanks! The only problem now is that it is still auto-capitalizing. (And I have set the language to "de" which should override most presets.) Is there any way to fix that?

    Unfortunately, the rules for capitalizing particles are so vague and ad hoc - both within languages and within citation styles - that I don't think that will ever be solved in a satisfactory way.
