4 digit page numbers.

I am using the stand alone Zotero for Mac. I have a very long unpublished manuscript that I cite repeatedly, but Zotero will not recognize 4 digit page numbers...
  • what do you mean by "not recognize"? Where do you in put the page number and what happens? Zotero doesn't care about the length of page numbers afaik and it certainly recognizes four digit ones, which are common in many journals.
  • When I use the zotero toolbar to enter a footnote, I can find the source no problem, but if I type the last name of the author and then a 4 digit number it won't do anything when I try to enter it. If it is a 3 digit number then I press enter and it inserts the footnote without a problem.
  • I can manually enter in the complete numbers, but then I have to choose to not let zotero change the footnote if there are any additional changes and I would rather not do that, nor do I want it to automatically change it back to the wrong page number.
  • Could it be the type of item? I have tried it with manuscript and document.
  • have you tried putting it in the page field:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#quick_format_citation_dialog

for me if I select the citation and type p.1234 that works, too.
  • That works! Thank you.
