Can't use WebDAV - some Error...

Hi,
I have a Apache configed with WebDAV which works flawless with Linux Software, with Windows Network Drive and with e.g. BitKinex (WebDAV Client for Windows). But Zotero is still bitching with the message "Unknown Error. Please check Sync Config or contanct Server Admin".
I use http. Any Ideas? I honestly do not understand what he wants.

address simply is http://zot on it the /zotero/

  • If you provide a Debug ID for a sync attempt that produces this, we can provide more info.
  • here its in pastebin: http://pastebin.com/hqKHUrAs

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /zotero/zotero-test-file
    on this server.

Seems to be the problem. But write and read rights are given, tested it.
  • The error is from the server, not from Zotero. Check your server logs to make sure the username and password are coming through, and test that same PUT request with cURL.
  • Ok here my observations:
    1. Windows Explorer and other Clients work fine with the WebDAV
    2. Linux Systems too
    3. HTTP and HTTPS work flawless
    4. I even copied that certificate exception file like the FAQ said

and I still getting the same error from Zotero...so everything but Zotero works with the WebDAV Server.
Trying to fix this since yesterday and I am out of ideas.
  • This is an authentication error from your WebDAV server—it doesn't have anything to do with an SSL certificate, etc. (I'm not sure what FAQ you're referring to.)

First, make sure you've clicked OK and reopened the Zotero preferences. There's a bug in 3.0.13 that can cause Verify Server to fail on Windows/Linux when setting up a new server, but if you close and open the preferences it should go away.

Beyond that, you'd have to check the two things I mentioned above.
  • Ok I think I was the victim of some bug. I just tried again and checked the log, tried http again and out of a sudden it works like a charm. I changed nothing
