Searching does not highlight and searches just one collections ?

To search all collections you have to choose Library
But it will not show the collections the items reside in
Perhaps that is because one item may reside in several collections
But it still should be possible to show which collections are involved.
I cant see what it the advantage of this
One item should reside in just one collection
  • you've made your position on this abundantly clear on multiple threads.
You're also still ignoring the pointers, given to you by multiple people, on how to identify the collections an item is in.
At this point you're not adding anything to the discussion and your activity looks increasingly like trolling.
    Please stop.
You're obviously welcome to post genuine questions.

    I know the tags.
To find the tags is also not easy as it is hidden as a tiny (almost invisible) arrow down on the left column. And sometimes the tags work, sometimes they do not work. One has also to choose the Library to search all collections with the tags. All this adds to the complications of Zotero.
I also know how to find the collections involved. You select the item + Alt. It is very difficult to remember, tedious to use. It could be easily improved....

I am asking for the motivations, what is the point with such complications.
You could also take it as constructive (not destructive) criticism
But I think you are not able to take such criticism and will close the discussion. As usual....
  • The tag selector is small because a lot of people do not use tags and you do not want to waste screen real estate. If you want to use it, then you have to find it once and click it once after it will be open unless you decide to close it. Not a big deal.

If tags do not work for you, start a new thread about the issue and describe how they do not work. Saying "And sometimes the tags work, sometimes they do not work" tells really nothing about your problem.

Searching all libraries is planned, but has not been implemented yet. If you think that things are easy to implement, put some action behind your words: The code is located at https://github.com/zotero/zotero and pull requests are welcome. If you cannot implement something yourself, do not say that it is easy. It may not be and you do not really know if it is.
