Not all of MyLibrary in standalone

I'm was trying to edit a paper and I kept getting a message saying,
"This item no longer exists in your Zotero database. Do you want to select a substitute item? Clicking NO will delete the field codes for citations containing this item...."
The item doesn't show up on Zotero standalone, but when I log into Zotero online, it is still listed in My Library. I have synced, but it still doesn't add.
Any suggestions?

    Everything has synced properly (I added a new item and synced and it showed up in both libraries- so I'm definitely in the correct account, etc)
    I can still find the items in My Library online, but they still don't show up when I try use the standalone (I'm using Chrome, by the way).

    If you edit the item online (doesn't matter what) and sync again, does it show up? If you sort both views by Date Modified descending, do you not see it?
