Adobe pdf plugin for indexing

I apologize if I am not posting this in the correct location. I submitted an error report and was directed to post the problem here as well. Please let me know if I need to add the report ID. I also have a screen shot that I can share and the debug log.

PROBLEM: I have pdftotext version 3.02 and pdfinfo version 3.02 installed. Currently, there are 0 items indexed. When I click "rebuild index", I get an error message that says "The version of this file is not compatible with the versions of Windows you are running. Etc." I am using Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). How can I resolve this problem so that I am able to search the body of the text of my files and not just the abstract, tags and title?

    First, upgrade to the latest version of Zotero. You're still on 3.0.8.

    Next, try deleting the pdftotext and pdfinfo files in your Zotero data directory. Then restart Zotero and reinstall the PDF tools from the Search pane of the preferences.

    Can I do this without loss of data? Do I need to backup a file somewhere? Does the program not automatically update to the latest version when you click the "check for update" button?

    while you should always have a back-up - http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#backing_up_your_zotero_library - updating/re-installing Zotero does not lead to data-loss, no.

    Zotero should automatically update, yes, I don't know why it didn't for you.
