Database seems to be write-protected

I have allready a few hundred references in zotero (including screenshots, pdf-attachements etc.) and while I tried to add another few references to the database, I could not add those.
When I tried to edit existing references, a change in the reference title was displayed in the middle window, a change of autors name was not. When closing Firefox an restarting, all changes are reset.
I use Xp Professional, Firefox 3, Zotero 1.0.6. I can offer my database, just send me an email.

    Have you tried the DB Repair Tool? If that doesn't fix it, does anything show up in Report Errors under the Actions (gear icon) menu before restarting? If so, send in an error report and post the Report ID here.

    Are you using Zotero on an external drive? Try changing the read/write permissions of your Zotero Library directory (and its content). This worked for me.
