How to download citaions as "RefWorks" or "EndNote" for import

So I don't have either RefWorks or EndNote but I am using a database that allows for formatting the ciations in these two forms. If I use the endnote form and copy it and then use import from clipboard this works. I just wondered if there was a way to do this a bit faster. Thanks.

    which database?
    Zotero can import RIS or Refer - the most commonly exported formats to Endnote - directly, but it does depend on how that's implemented in the database.

    The Database is CNKI a Chinese journal article database. If you try to save a list of references it gives you a few format options. The one I got to work, but only one reference at at time, was the "Endnote" format where all the items began with %.

    When you have the information formated you can either "print" or transfer to "local." The later tries to open in textedit (I have a Mac) but is all garbled. (this could be because Chinese websites are all designed for PCs and often struggle with Macs. I also tried printing it as a PDF and then dropping that in Zotero and tried to access the metadata, which of course didn't work.

    The "save to local" could theoretically work for Zotero, but not the way it's implemented on CNKI - though I'm surprised Textedit mangles those pages for you - you could try downloading the file and then using Zotero --> Import to open that. That works for me on linux, but my texteditor also opens the file correctly.

    There used to be a CNKI Zotero translator that worked with the familiar URL bar icon, but that's a bit hard to fix for those of us who work on translators, since none of us speaks/reads any Chinese. There is no way to get from the individual item display to Endnote export is there?

    I downloaded the file (in Endnote format)and had no problem then importing it into Zotero.

    As for the URL bar icon, this way is actually better when importing a long list of citations. It might be nice as well, but it is not a big deal.

    As for your last question, it seems you can either go to their knowledge network node where the pdf and lists of related articles reside or you can hit the check box and then the save option which takes you to the citation page with the different format options.

    Thanks for you help. I'd already imported what I need for now, but this will be helpful in the future.
