Zotero permanently offline

I installed zotero standalone for safari and the connector (latest version). The button is visible in my browser, but it's permanently grayed out with a slash through it, even when I have the standalone application open.

I'm using a MacBook OS X 10.5.8 -could this be the issue?
  • does that include pages where Zotero works such as
    http://www.amazon.com/Wealth-Nations-Adam-Smith/dp/161382081X/
    ?
  • Thanks for your response!

Now the button says it is online, but not clickable. I tried the amazon site you suggested and that does not work either.
  • as in nothing happens when you click?
  • Yes, when I mouse over the button, it says "Zotero is online." But if I try to click on it, the button does nothing.
  • see if you can provide an error report ID from Safari as described here:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
    under the heading "Safari"
  • I am trying to use the standalone version of Zotero for Safari. Somehow, I see the icon in my toolbar but it is in an permanently offline position. I don’t get to import any articles by clicking on it. I tried the preferences-report error that is mentioned above, somehow It does not report any errors. Is there any way I can solve this?

    Hi,

I have the same problem and I cannot generate an error report as the window states:

    Report Errors
Zotero Connector has not experienced any errors since it was first started.

  • Hi,

    I have a similar problem.

Whan I get, for example, in the amazon website, the icon works and I can save the document to my library, but where can I see the library in my Safari window?

When I used firefox in a PC I saw it on the right-down side of the window and could open the library directly to manage it.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.
