Mofifying object types

Hi,

is there a way to modify the objects types? For example I would like to add a "method"-Field to the "journal articel" object.
Is there any possibility to do so?

    It is possible to modify your Zotero files, but it is almost universally a bad idea.

    Have you thought about using tags for this? For example if you use tags like "method-ethnographic" "method-historical" and "method-discourse analysis" you can manipulate them through the tag selector and drag and drop items onto them. That should give you the same flexibility, without having to mess with the fields.

    well the problem in using tags is that they are not going to be exported. And I would like to use this feature the way that I can use the fields in EndNote.
    I will check the "modifying files"-thing, maybe this will work, even if it is a bad idea ;)
