Hey there, I've got quite a few problems with using Zotero, especially the fact that it sometimes 'crashes'. The tab opens in FF, but it says "an error has occurred. Please restart Aurora" after trying to use Safe to Zotero.
I saw some things in the error log that make me believe it is one of my addons, but none of my addons is in the list of problematic ones.

Here is the list:

If you need more info, please let me know.
  • You're using an alpha version of Firefox which is incompatible with Zotero: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/25872/danger-zotero-will-not-yet-work-with-firefox-17-18-or-higher/

Did you mean to be running an alpha version of Firefox?
  • (FF 17 will be released on November 20th and Zotero 3.0.9 will be compatible with it. Until then, you've to downgrade to Firefox 16.0.2, the latest stable version of Firefox.
Firefox 18 is scheduled to be released on January 8, 2013...)
  • Thanks! Should have seen that!
And yes, I intent to run Aurora; it is often quite stable, fast and offers features that are at least on par to the browsers of competitors.
  • you'll frequently run into incompatibilities with Aurora and Zotero, especially in the nearer future as FF introduces some bigger underlying changes (specifically removing E4X if you care for the details).

Zotero assures that it always works with the most recent stable version of Firefox. The early releases of FF are, among other things, precisely for testing/adapting add-ons to changes.

If you're going to run Aurora, you can also run the branch release for Zotero http://www.zotero.org/support/dev_builds#zotero_30_branch which is typically quite stable. That won't always support Aurora, but it'll start working more quickly.
