Chrome Plugin Not Working

I successfully installed the chrome plugin but on some websites it does not show up successfully with the blue book icon. Instead it shows a folder. When clicking on that folder nothing happens.

I am running OS X 10.6 and the latest version of Chrome for Mac. Also using the German versions.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
  • which websites?
  • Harvard libraries website. The plugin seems to be working correctly on another Mac running 10.7. Any chance this could be related to the outdated OS? Or do you think it is specific to this computer.
  • we need specifics - you're looking at the hollis catalog? what search terms?
I don't believe the OS version should have any impact on translators, no.
  • Hollis is correct. As an example, I searched 'bible' and clicked on the first result. Icon at the right of address bar remains a folder even though it should come up as a blue icon. Is this website specific then?
  • So we're looking at this item, correct?
    http://hollis.harvard.edu/?itemid=|library/m/aleph|008324845

Do you have Standalone open when you try this?
This is almost certainly site specific, yes.
    Try this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Wealth-Nations-Adam-Smith/dp/161382081X/
that should work on any set-up.
  • The Adam Smith book is working for me correctly. Looks like it must be site specific then. Thanks so much for your help!

I can reproduce this on Hollis. The problem is that the site doesn't reload when you open a book - if you follow the permalink (it's on every hollis item page - e.g. http://hollis.harvard.edu/?itemid=|library/m/aleph|008324845 ) you force a reload and you'll get the book item.

I don't know if we can easily improve on that experience.
