As I'm working on the preferences section: is there a reason that Zotero for Firefox doesn't offer an option to install the LibreOffice plugin via the Zotero preferences?
Dan, Simon, are you interested in helping to maintain a Zotero wiki page to keep track of outdated documentation and new features that still have to be documented? I think that would be handier than this sticky thread. I wouldn't mind setting one up, but as developers you're better aware of new features as they become available. Also, I'm currently a bit hesitant to work on some parts of the documentation (such as creating documentation for the website interface), since I have no clue on whether or when a redesign is due, so some guidance there would be welcome as well.
maybe I'm wrong, but from the download page of zotero 3.0 (and anywhere on the website) I cannot find any link to the instructions on how to install it on Linux...XD
there is no need to install on linux - you can just run it (run zotero in the directory you downloaded this to) .
For an unofficial - but well working - install script see here:

This will also give you an icon etc.
Ideally Zotero would get packaged for the most relevant distros, i.e. an rpm for Fedora and a deb for Debian/Mint/Ubuntu. There are tickets for that on all of those distros, but it's up to a volunteer or team member on those distros to take this on.

it would be worth mentioning that you can add multiple files and retrieve metadata for all of them with one click. The functionality's there but new users won't necessarily know. Like I didn't!

Generally, be careful relying too much on the Retrieve Metadata feature, as the data imported (via google scholar) isn't always the best.
