Export from Jabref to Zotero

I try to export the .bib file from Jabref to Zotero, but there is always this problem. For example, I have 10 articles in Jabref, if I use the normal export from Jabref, I can have these 10 items in Zoter but without the PDF files. If I use the function in Jabref--save these 10 items as other .bib file, I will have them with PDF files. Then there comes my problem. I can't successful import all 10 articles, it always says there is a mistake, I can only import 7 of them. First I think for the left 3 articles there must something unstandard. But then I save these 3 articles as another .bib file, I can import them in Zotero without promble. I want to ask why. If there are only several artiles that is fine, but I have nealy 2000 articles, I can't seperate them to hundurd pieces. So please hepl me to solve this problem. Thank you very much
  • Please provide a sample .bib file that fails to import. You can paste it on gist.github.com or pastebin.com or something similar.
  • The warrning is,"JavaScript Application" -- An error occurred while trying to import the selected file. Please ensure that the file is valid and try agian. The . bib file is normal one, I just save 10 artiles as a 1.bib file.
  • we need to see the file to be able to say what's going wrong, please do post it as aurimas asks above.
In general, bibtex files - including much larger ones - import just fine, so this is a specific problem and we need to be able to look at the specific file that's causing it.

of successions of noises, according to the type of noise. It is shown
that a single index, termed noise pollution level, accommodates the
experimental results of surveys of aircraft and of motor vehicle
noise. The same formula satisfactorily explains the results of laboratory
tests in which noise intensity is traded against duration to maintain
equal impressions of objectionableness. The index is based on two
terms, one representing the equivalent continuous noise level on
the energy basis, and the other representing the augmentation of
annoyance when fluctuations of noise level occur. Practical and theoretical
implications of the index are discussed.},

When I import this with others it shows problem, but if when I save it as one .bib file, I can import it successful. Can you tell me the resean?

The file location is a strange one. Are you able to open that file from within JabRef? What is the full path to that file? Are you on Windows?
  • Sorry I don't know if it is right. I just copy the bibtex from my jabref for this file.
  • Please try opening the PDF from that link from within JabRef. If you're able to, we can look at ways of improving the translator.

But, in general: if the translator can't find a file that your bibtex file points to, import will fail. You need to ensure the file links work.
  • file = {Towards a unified system of noise assessment.PDF:1970s\\Towards a unified system of noise assessment.PDF:PDF}
That is an invalid file path (at least on a Windows system). Zotero should still import the item without an attachment, but it currently fails. This will be fixed in the next Zotero release (planned to be out by the end of the week).
