JSTOR translator broken?
Each time I have tried to import a RIS from JSTOR in the last few weeks, I get a pop-up asking what I want to do with the file.
I submitted the problem (1452222054), I am just trying to figure out what changed, and if there is a good work-around.

You have chosen to open
downloadSingleCitationSec
which is a: application/x-research-info/systems (74 bytes)
from: https://www-jstor-org.proxy.lib.fsu.edu
What should Firefox do with this file?

There is no icon in the URL bar to click to add it to my library (as suggested in article linked by aurimas), and I do not know how to "use the actual site translator in the URL bar" as suggested by adamsmith.
I know I can manually enter the information, but that would take a LOT of extra time. I have worked around it for most of the articles I need but I still have about 20 that I do not have available from sources other than JSTOR because of my institution's access rights. So any help on how to get Firefox, JSTOR, and Zotero playing nice together would be greatly appreciated!
If you use either option 2 or 3 here:
http://help.fsu.edu/Network-Help/VPN-Service that problem should go away and you'll get the URL bar icon and much better import - including pdfs attached, cleaned-up data, etc.
I don't know what the problem with the RIS import is, though, usually that works.
And, I have no idea where the hyphens are coming from, since every other address using the proxy has dots. Grr.
I'm seeing the same message reported above:

This file then cannot be saved and imported into Zotero. When I try I get the message: "The selected file is not in a supported format." Yet the format is RIS! Frustrating!
1. What's a sample JSTOR article for which you have tried this unsuccessfully? (ideally post the stable URL which should be on the page and in the form; http://www.jstor.org/stable/301881 )
2. When you open the file you download with a text editor (e.g. notepad, TextEdit) select the entire content and paste it here so we can have a look.
Please provide a link to the item you are downloading the RIS file for and provide us with steps you follow to download the file and then import it.
Also, you can post the contents of the RIS file on a website like pastebin.com or gist.github.com
