Cannot delete zotero.sqlite.tmp

I continue to get this alert. I have downloaded the recent upgrade. I'm using a 2011 Macbook Pro with the standalone installed and Firefox. I'm not having any problems, but this is just annoying. Can someone suggest how I can eliminate this alert.

  • Did you copy your Zotero data directory from another location? You could get this if there's a permissions problem in your Zotero data directory. It could also be due to security software on your system, though that's less likely on a Mac.
  • You don't say which version of OS 10 you are using but you can learn more about permissions by going to the finder and then using the help menu enter "permissions" in the search field. There will be an option "Set permissions..." select that and then follow the instructions to "Apply permissions to all items in a folder or a disk."

For your username the privilege should be Read&Write.

To identify the Zotero data directory in Finder, within Zotero you should click the gear icon, then click the advanced (tools) icon, click on the "Show Data Directory" button. That will open the Finder with the Zotero directory highlighted. Right click there and Get Info.
  • OS 10.7.4

I recently replaced my hard drive with an SSD and had to clone the drive. I guess that could have done it.

I located the directory Zotero>Gear>Preferences>Advanced>Show Data Directory.

I adjusted the permission on the files to allow read write and I haven't seen the alert any more.

    Thanks for the help!!
