Export to RDF Not Working - 24 Oct 12

Using Zotero 3.0.8 in Firefox and trying to export files/notes in RDF, only to get javascript application: an error occurred. Also file manager window used to determine where to export file has limited options as to where to put files.

Suggestions welcomed!
  • how many items are you exporting at once?
  • Two entries each with one file. Btw, checked zotero translators are up to date too.
  • please provide an error report ID:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
    right after producing that error.
  • Done. It's 954651848
  • Dan? anything in there?
  • [JavaScript Error: "Component returned failure code: 0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) [nsIFile.copyTo]" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/translation/translate_item.js" line: 746}]
We've seen that on some versions of Windows when the filename or path was too long, though there could be other reasons.
  • @fionacoach - please test whether this works without files attached.
If it does - are there any snapshots attached to those items? If so, right-click on them in Zotero, select "Show File" and see if some of the website components in that folder have excessively long file names.
  • Doesn't work with/without files.

Also, the pop up export window has changed appearance - compared to previous use. It no longer looks like a full windows explorer window - instead it just has one line for the file name. Any way I could send you a screen shot?
  • upload screenshot to a free image hosting site like http://imgur.com/ and post link here.
  • done. http://i.imgur.com/GwOA9.png
  • I don't have any idea why the file picker looks like that—it looks like a perverted version of the Windows 7 file picker—but that's not really a Zotero issue. If you fiddle with it maybe you can get the normal view back.

What happens when you click Save? You shouldn't get the above error if you're not including files in the export.
  • I'm sure Dan checked this in the Report ID, but what version of Firefox are you running?

Also try disabling all other addons.
