when I try to Retrieve metadata for PDF, its saying no matching references found for some files which were retrieved earlier before I uninstalled and installed the app.

Is PDF recognition working for any other PDFs?

See if you can perform Google Scholar searches manually (if you perform a lot of Google Scholar searches in a short period of time, you may get locked out)
If you can, and the Retrieve Metadata function is still not working, please provide a Debug ID for the Retrieve Metadata action.
1. Note that you shouldn't use retrieve metadata as the main method of getting data into Zotero. There is a Zotero translator for Zotero that imports excellent data - use that, the data is much better than the one you get for the PDF.
2. My suspicion is that google scholar is locking you out temporarily because you're making too many requests via retrieve metadata.
Try seaching scholar.google.com directly and see if you get a warning about being a robot.
And Yes, I am trying to retrieve metadata for atleast 10-15 files.
I searched the google scholar as said and its not warning me anything.
How do I provide the Debug Id? When I go through the steps given,tools-addons-extensions- then I don't find zotero preferences there .

you can also get there using the gears icon in Zotero.
I can only warn you again, though, that doing this via retrieve metadata is going to require a lot of manual clean-up - see below the same citations, once using EBSCO, once using retrieve metadata.

Could you take a look at what is failing there? What string is being searched? Maybe the PDF is not OCR'ed?
I can solve those that could not recognize the text. But of 40 files I retrieve, only 5 are getting done.
I tried to reindex it, i tried with to do with a new downloaded file from the website, but of no use.
Try again today, and try in smaller batches, maybe 5 at a time. My guess is still that you were locked out of google scholar in some way or the other.
