Zotero no longer in my add-ons

In trying to use Zotero, I noticed that it is no longer in my add-ons. It was functional before and I cannot think of what might have caused this change. I do not want to download it again, as I've done this once before and it would not accept my credentials indicating that they were already in use. So, my credentials were retained but Zotero would not work. Luckily, I have another email address and was able to use that and successfully download Zotero a second time. Now, once again, Zotero is not functioning properly and I have run out of email addresses. What are my options here?
  • I don't understand: what's your "credentials"? Your login and password?
    There are two different problems here:
    -downloading zotero : you don't need to create a zotero account or to login for that;
    -syncing your library: an account is needed (documentation here).

    You obviously have an account as you're posting on this forum.
  • I'm friends with MBCohen and here's what's happening:

    She downloaded the add-on for Firefox at work and it was fine until one day when she logged in and it had completely disappeared from the browser's add-on list. She tried downloading again and Zotero told her that that username was already in use.

    The thing is, is that the username belongs to her, so why shouldn't she be able to download another instance of the add-on with her own Zotero account? She can still login to the Zotero site (with that username), but (and this another issue) she isn't given the option to enter more comments into this forum. (Which is why I'm writing on her behalf.)
  • you don't need a username at all to download Zotero, so I don't quite follow that part.
    Also - what happens when she tries to add a comment to the forum?
  • When she goes to the forum, the Enter your comments field doesn't appear.
  • and at the top right, what does she see? Where you see:
    Welcome, vdearborn Settings Inbox Download Log Out

    The fact that both of you repeatedly say something about the need for a username to download Zotero suggest to some bigger misunderstanding. Not just do you not _need_ an account to download and install Zotero, Zotero won't even _ask_ you for an account until after you have installed it (and then you can ignore that page if you already have one).
