With Endnote, which I refuse to upgrade now that it's no longer working with M$ Word 2008, one can custom design a format to only insert an author's initials. This is a really nice feature, since reference imports from the web are totally undstandardized. Sometimes they come in with first name. Sometimes first letter of first name. Sometimes first letter followed by period followed by initial of middle name. Being able to create continuity by just having the initials show up is very useful. Thanks for the great app!

    Several of the styles available to you in Zotero do just that. For example the APA style only uses initials for bibliographic entries.
