Some PDF attachments cannot be added?
Hi everyone, I just started using Zotero yesterday after Endnote failed me when I tried to rebuild my library.
After adding about 90 citations and attaching the corresponding PDF to each of them I opened Zotero today to find that about 10 of them don't actually have their PDF attached to them any more. I first thought this would be a saving/syncing problem, checking on zotero.org it turned out that there are indeed no attachments saved to those items.
So I tried it again, and other than the adding taking a little longer all seemed fine, I got the little arrow icon in front of the title and the number under the + colum changed to 1. However, double-clicking still opens the website and not the pdf, and clicking the little arrow does not show any file actually attached. After manually syncing there is still no attachment visible online. I tried deleting and re-adding the citation, which didn't help either.
However, adding a different PDF (that is already succesfully added to it's corresponding citation) did work, so I suspect it has to do with the pdf files themselves. I cannot find anything special about them however, they are of various shapes and forms, and I have succesfully added files from the same Magazine to other citations.
All in all, I'm at a loss here, I cannot seem to find a solution. I hope one of you can! Let me know if you need any further information.
Thanks in advance!

How are you attaching the PDF? (Automatically through the translator? By drag and drop from your file system?)
The PDFs I attach in the Zotero tab in my browser using the paperclip-icon, but I tried drag&drop as well with no luck.
Currently going through the PDFs that seem to be the problem and trying to find out if there is anything special about them, will post an update if anything comes up.
Turned out all the files I could not add had pretty long file names, after making them shorter I was able to add them properly.
What confused me was that there was no error message of any sort, plus zotero did still add the +1 Number and the little arrow (both of which are gone after a browser restart though).
Appears I had the same problem that this guy described here:
http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/22036/dropping-pdf-with-long-file-names-into-zotero-library-does-not-work/
Fortunately I only have a handful of files with such long names so that manual editing is not a big issue.
Thank you everyone for your help!
