PLoS ONE: Style for "Report" wrong

Hi,
I am trying to cite references of type "report" in a PLoS ONE paper, but the style is not getting the number of pages, series title, and report number.
Thanks.
  • It's very well possible that that was never included in the style.
What's the correct format for a report in PLoS ONE style?
    Also, two things:
    1. Number of pages is currently broken for reports - this should get fixed with the next Zotero version but maybe not earlier
    2. For the styles we have used, we use the "Report Type" field for the name of the working paper - as in "XYZ's Institute Working Paper". It's a trade-off between that and series title, but we felt that "Report Type" worked better and was more widely applicable.
  • Thanks for the quick response. To my knowledge, PLoS ONE does not have a style for reports (http://www.plosone.org/static/guidelines.action), but since I am citing reports, I am trying to follow something similar to a book (as it is at the moment), adding the "program" the report is part of if available. For instance for this NCHRP report: http://onlinepubs.trb.org/onlinepubs/nchrp/nchrp_rpt_456-a.pdf

Forkenbrock DJ, Weisbrod GE (2001)Guidebook for Assessing the Social and Economic Effects of Transportation Projects. National Cooperative Highway Research Program. Washington, DC: National Academy Press.

I tried putting "National Cooperative Highway Research Program" as a report type, but it did not change anything. As for the report number, I have no idea whether it should be included or not (but I suspect it may not be critical).

Once again, PLoS ONE does not have a specific format for reports, so your opinion is as good as mine.

Thanks for letting me know about the page problem. I can always edit by hand in the mean time.
  • Agreed it should be similar to a book.
I'll include the report number. If you come across an example of a report cited in a PLoS ONE paper let me know. I'll let you know when I have something, but that may well be a couple of weeks or so.
  • No problem, thank you very much for your time.
  • Thanks a lot.
  • a PLOS style that includes report type is now up - I just included it after the title, lacking a clear template (Rintze's example's aren't very clear in that respect, either).
