My users cannot acces the files

I have created two groups and one common access with one account. Some people told me they have troubles to access to the attached files.
I have checked it, the problem seems to be random, or rare, and it as follows. The user (member level) can log-in, can find the file description, however, he does not see the attachement.
In addtiion, he can add/remove the collections, taking into account it is a memeber level user, he should not to see this options.
Thank you in advance for you remarks.
  • Are you sure all libraries and users are synced? It's not fully clear how you set it up. It is not recommended to have one common account for everyone: the whole idea of group libraries is that multiple accounts can have access to the same group library. But if there is only one account all users have the same user level. So what do you mean by "the user (member level)"?

Removing collections and items and attachment is indeed possible for any member of the group. There is a proposal to have more fine-grained roles for group libraries but its status is unclear. (It may help if you support it.)
  • Dear Mark, thank you for you answer. The situation is as follows. I have my account with Admin level and I have two groups. I have created one account, Member level, to the users who would like to only view or load the files and acces Zotero using any browser. I have adjust the Member properties to give only reading rights. However, thay sent me from time to time the image of the window they see, thus they see the list of my files, but they don't see the attachements. And I see that they have an acces to the options like create collections for example, which normaly are not available with this account. I though that maybe they use their account without being invitated, but no, they confirmed that thay use the Member account which I created.

And concerning a fine-grained roles: yes, absolutely, it would great to have more levels (at least one or two).

This isn't the case if the library is set to limit library editing to admins, but they would need to sync for the options to become disabled.
