pdf doesn't open

I tried to access some of the pdf files I have in my Zotero but they will not open. I get redirected to a new -empty- page in my browser. Exactly the same thing happens when I try to access the same articles (as pdf's) through the databases of my university library. I don't really know where to start. "Ordinary" pdfs on my harddrive open as usual.

    To start with, try right-click on the pdf and open in external pdf viewer that should work.
    The issue you're seeing is a Firefox issue - Firefox, for whatever reason, doesn't properly open your pdfs. We can't help you all that much with that, especially since it sounds like it's not a Zotero issue - but you should be able to find a number of suggestions by googling - the best solution will also depend on your operating system, e.g.
