Importing Compendex Records - Problems
Although the correct icon (journal article, conference paper) appears in the FF address bar, I receive error messages when trying to import an individual record. When I right-click to CrossRef lookup, or library lookup I also get errors (an error occurred while performing...).
When I first used the site's RIS download I saw the dialog box asking me if I want to always bring Compendex RIS files into Zotero. I clicked "yes" and imported the file but it was imported into the library -- not into the open collection and not into its own collection.
I have tried this with and without the university library proxy. I tried connecting using Chrome (with FF closed) and the Zotero stand-alone.
I haven't used Compendex lately, but when I used it several months ago I could import items without them going into my large library.
Is there any way for me to control the download so that I need not find each record by sorting the library by date added?
Suggestions please.

No matter what article I want to bring into Zotero, I get the same unpleasant result. The record(s) import into my library and not into the open collection or into a new collection.
I have tried several Zotero proxy settings and none seems to make a difference.
[Note: importing RIS files from other publisher or database sites works as expected.]
The policy of downloading each RIS into its own collection (and not into the desired open collection) is very frustrating. This dumping of imported items into my library is both highly annoying and puzzling.
On another note, is there any possibility of changing the RIS import translator to parse the issn field and add a hyphen (when there is none) between the first and last four characters. I seem to remember that this parsing was a feature of an earlier version of the RIS importer. It is messy having some of the ISSNs with the hyphen and some without.
Thanks.
FYI - the RIS behavior is scheduled to change, IIRC that might even be in Zotero 3.5 due out this year.
It is good to read that RIS behavior might change. I hope that will include bringing records into an open collection, fixing all-upper-case author names, and reformatting ISSNs by placing a hyphen between the two four character groups.
Thank you for checking on this.
There is been a general reluctance to fix up data import in RIS - i.e. ISSNs or authors - since it's a generic translator, it is probably a good idea to not put too many hacks in that.
This should (and as you know in many cases is) handled in the specific translators. You say that the engineering village translator doesn't work on those pages - is that still the case? - that's why I wanted the titles or some other means of getting to the records in question.
