Slowing down and unstable

Hello,

I am using Zotero Standalone 3.0.8 on Windows 7 x64 and it is starting to slow down and not respond frequently. If I don't do anything while the program isn't responding, it goes back to normal after several seconds.

I have about 50 items with notes, tags, and images attached to each of them.

Is there something I can do to make the program stable? My system specs are far greater than is recommended for the program so I believe this is a software issue.
  • Are you getting a sync error, indicated by an error icon to the left of the sync icon? This might be due to auto-sync in combination with an error.
  • Had the same problem a few days ago after working on a document with zotero open for about 10 hours. Started getting long waits between field updates when tabbing through or entering. Half hour later it was back to working normally.
  • There are no sync errors of any kind. It could be because I've been using the program a long time without rebooting my computer, but I work with Zotero often enough that I've noticed this instability several times already.
  • I should have been more specific on what triggers the instability:

I only get stability issues and hangs when I edit or add new notes to items.

I just discovered that if I choose to edit the note in a separate window, the instability issues go away.

Perhaps the developers should check for stability issues involving the in-window text editor.
  • Does it still happen if you disable auto-sync?
  • Are you positive? It's pretty unusual for this to happen unrelated to a sync.

Can you provide a Debug ID for one of these stalls?
